Pear Tree Pricing

The pear trees are $28 for bare root and $39 potted unless noted. Pear trees do require a pollinator of a different variety. The varieties below will work for each other (unless noted).

Very hardy. Yellow fruit lightly blushed with dull red. Best for canning and spicing, fair for fresh eating.

Great dessert pear for the northern climates. Jicy, sweet, medium birght yellow fruit. Red fall foliage. Fire blight resistant. Note that this pear is pollen-sterile which means that it will not pollinate another pear.

*Cannot be used to pollinate another pear tree.

Large, yellow bronze fruit that is fine-grained, tender and juicy. Vigorous growth habit. A 1934 University of MN introduction that is also a popular pollinator.

Tender, juicy fruit of a good size. Very good for fresh eating. A great pollinator for other pears.

Summercrisp

Very hardy pear tree that is free of fire blight. Fruit is sweet and crisp and can be stored for up to 2 months in cold storage. This tree is only available in a “whip” which means that it is not branched out yet. However, please note that orchardists typically plant “whips”.

Tawara Asian Pear (Sold Out)

Unusual, crisp light brown fruit tastes like a cross between an apple and a pear. Beautiful tree that is partially self-fruitful, but will produce better with another cultivar for pollination.
